Is my soul asleep?
　　我的灵魂睡了吗？

　　Have those beehives that work
　　那些在夜里嗡嗡作响的

　　in the night stopped?And the water-
　　蜂箱都已沉寂了吗？还有

　　wheel of thought,is it
　　思想的水车，是否

　　going around now,cups
　　依然轮动，而那些杯子

　　empty,carrying only shadows?
　　是否都空了，只有阴影在里头？

　　No,my soul is not asleep
　　不，我的灵魂没睡着

　　It is awake,wide awake
　　它依然清醒，充分警觉

　　It neither sleeps nor dreams,but watches
　　它并未睡着，也不做梦，而是守望着

　　its eyes wide open
　　它的眼睛睁着

　　far-off things,and listens
　　注视遥远的事物，并且侧耳

　　at the shores of the great silence.
　　在静谧的岸上倾听着。
