A vet has been struck off after being filmed having sex with a dog - and a HORSE.

Oliver Lown, 28, videoed himself with a horse and a dog while on a farm in Yorkshire - just a few miles from where famous veterinary James Herriot practiced.

Police seized photographs and videos of bestial activity from Lown's phone and laptop. His green tattooed star on his lower leg identified him as the man in the footage

The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons disciplinary committee five charges proven against Lown, of Kesgrave, Suffolk, that he possessed extreme images and videos of people, himself and others having sex with various animals, including a man and a sheep.

In 2012 he pleaded guilty at Northallerton Magistrates' Court, North Yorks, to seven criminal charges relating to the possession of extreme images involving people and animals, for which he was given a conditional discharge.

The RCVS committee heard the Crown Prosecution Service decided not to prosecute him in respect of a bestiality charge that it was considering, but the RCVS found the charge to be proven.

Ipswich Town fan Lown had graduated from the Szent Istvan University in Budapest, Hungary and he had been registered with the RCVS in 2013, the committee heard.

Three of the charges related to the discovery of images or videos on a laptop and a Sony Erikson mobile phone found in the bedroom of his at his home.

Another charge related to footage of him engaging in sexual activity with a horse and a dog, while a fifth charge related to him sending messages that referred to sexual activity with animals.

Professor Noreen Burrows, chairing the Disciplinary Committee, said: "In these circumstances, the Committee has no doubt that the respondent's conduct was of the utmost seriousness.

"The material found in possession of the respondent and his own conduct in charge 4 involved the abuse of animals and a total lack of respect for their welfare.

"In the judgement of the Committee each of the charges individually amounts to disgraceful conduct and the charges certainly amount to disgraceful conduct when taken cumulatively."

In order to safeguard animal welfare, maintain public confidence in the profession and uphold proper standards of conduct, the Disciplinary Committee directed the Registrar to remove Mr Lown's name from the Register."

In June 2009 Lown had spent a fortnight at a farm in North Yorkshire "in relation to an animal breeding/husbandry practical" for his studies. But whilst there he preyed on the farmer's pet and livestock.

During a police search of the farm the following February they seized a laptop computer with files showing Lown with a horse and a dog.

The disciplinary hearing recorded:"It is admitted by the Respondent [Lown] that these videos depict an adult maleengaging in sexual activity with a horse in a stable setting and a dog in a house setting."

The male in the video was positively identified as the Respondent by DC Karl Middlemiss, of the North Yorkshire police, who gave evidence to the Committee.

DC Middlemiss viewed the images and videos and they showed vet as tall and thin, long dark-coloured hair, black eyebrows and black facial hair.

His face was visible on the footage of the video involving the horse and in the video involving the dog the greeny-blue star tattoo was visible on the calf area of the adult male's right leg.
