Seven terrorists detonated their suicide belt and one was killed by the police after coordinated attacks in Paris on Friday night. At least 156 people were killed and 300 injured. Accomplices of attackers may still be on the loose. France has declared a national state of emergency and has closed its borders.

France President Hollande said, "Terrorists capable of carrying out such atrocities must know that they will face a France that is determined and united. Out fight will be merciless!"

American counterterrorism officials say the immediate suspicion for the events in Paris falls to so-called returnees -- people who have traveled to Syria and Iraq and have returned.

It’s foolish to think we’re ever completely safe in this world, and that terrorism won’t harm us.”
