下次我再介绍一下,ornellaia的副牌 le serre nuove del ornellaia 还有现在公司持有者frescobali,一个跟意大利最古老酒庄安东尼 antinori一样拥有悠久历史的酒庄。
Tenuta dell’Ornellaia(Bolgheri-area)
The Tenuta dell’Ornellaia was founded in 1981 in Bolgheri, in the province of Livorno, a Tuscan area of great viticultural and winemaking prestige. On April 1 2005, Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi successfully completed negotiations with Constellation to acquire the remaining 50% share previously held by the American group. Following the acquisition of Robert Mondavi Corporation by Constellation in December 2004, Frescobaldi exercised its option to acquire its share of Robert Mondavi Corporation in Ornellaia. The negotiations leading to the mutual agreement between Frescobaldi and Constellation was motivated by their joint commitment to avoid any interruption in the forward growth of Tenuta di Ornellaia. The agreement thus returned “to Italian hands” a wine estate that is a standard-bearer in the world of ultra-premium wines. Tenuta dell’Ornellaia will retain management independence, continuing to boast the expert, tightly organised managerial team that has achieved notable successes.
The Tenuta comprises 91 hectares of vineyard, on various soil types and conditions. The Mediterranean-influenced climate is quite mild and favourable to premium viticulture.
Tenuta dell’ Ornellaia’s terroir derives its unique character from three main sources, the influence of the sea, alluvial soils, and volcanic formations. The estate is planted to noble red varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot.
All of the wines are red: Ornellaia, a cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc classified as Bolgheri DOC Superiore, is the estate’s icon wine. Le Serre Nuove (Bolgheri DOC) is the Tenuta’s second label. Masseto IGT is a legendary cru Merlot which debuted in 1986.
Tenuta dell’Ornellaia is universally regarded one of the world’s top wine producers; in 2001 the prestigious Wine Spectator magazine gave its Best Wine in the World award to the 1998 Ornellaia.
